ANZAHPE Presentation Guidelines
An important function of ANZAHPE conferences, is for us to learn from each other. Whilst we learn from others’ presentations, the presenters also learn from the participants. This means that interactionsare the key. We offer a number of presentation formats that vary according to the amount of interaction needed
All presenters are required to register and pay by Friday 7 April 2017, the early bird registration deadline.
- Poster presentation (3 + 2 minutes)
- Oral presentation (10 + 5 minutes)
- PeArL session (5 + 40 minutes)
- Symposium (75 + 15 minutes)
Please refer to the program schedule to view the day and time of your presentation. It is anticipated the Program schedule will be available in late March 2017.
Preparing your presentation
All session rooms will be equipped with a laptop (Windows 7), lectern, microphone, lapel microphone and data projector supplied by the Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC). It is recommended that you use the ACC's laptops and play back devices.
If you must use your own laptop, advise this office before Friday 30 June 2017. Ensure you bring the appropriate adaptors and please note that the venue will not provide any technical support for equipment it does not own and maintain.
The preferred method of presentation is via PowerPoint. PowerPoint presentations should be prepared in wide screen 16:9 (not standard 4:3 format). You must bring your presentation to the conference on USB Flash drive for it to be loaded onto the Conference system by an audiovisual technician in the speakers’ preparation room. Please have your presentation saved under your last/family name.
Presenters are requested to report to the registration desk on arrival. You will be directed to the speaker preparation area where your presentation will be uploaded and verified. If you have a MAC or special presentation requirements, please see the technical operators in the speaker preparation area for assistance. Meet with your session chairperson in the session room 10-15 minutes prior to the commencement of the session. If at all possible, please check your presentation material in the speaker preparation area well before your presentation time to avoid any problems when you present.
In preparing your presentation, emphasis should be given to the visual impact and format to capture your presentation. In your presentation please do not attempt to detail your entire research project or project history. Present only enough data to support conclusions or to explain the points you wish to make. Diagrams and photographs are a much more effective way of presenting data than text. Make sure the font you choose is clear when projected and large enough that everyone can read your slides (including the axes of your plots and other captions). The aim of presentations is to put across a simple message in an eye-catching manner.

Posters are grouped into pods of 8 papers. Presenters will have 3 minutes to present and 2 minutes to answer questions during the dedicated 45 minute in-conference session.

Posters should be no larger than AO portrait size i.e. 841mm wide [left to right] x 1189mm high [top to bottom]. Please ensure your poster does not exceed 841mm wide. Posters will be displayed at a designated site in the exhibition hall. Staff at the registration desk will provide instructions.
All posters must have a title.
Text lettering should be large enough to be legible at a distance of 1.5 m. Lettering used for titles should be 24point size minimum (Times New Roman or Arial are good fonts to use). Freehand lettering is not recommended. All text must be in English. Photographs and diagrams should be large enough to be read at a distance of 1.5m.
Contact details should be included on the poster.
Hanging and Removing your Poster
Poster panels are smooth finish white wall panels and you will need to use either double sided tape or Velcro hook and loop (both 'female' and ‘male’ velcro)to affix your poster. You should bring this with you to the Conference.
Posters can be erected between 8.00am and 10.30am Wednesday 12 July 2017. Posters must be taken down between 1.00pm and 3.00pm Friday 14 July 2017.
